Putting 'geets is a cat' in my own tags has me laughing so hard thinking about how Bulma 'My Dad is an Avid Animal Rescuer' Briefs could probably circumvent Geets getting in the way during his 'I'm quitting fighting forever' phases by giving him his own little tasks to do that mimic hers
look at this little business man
#genuinely he was a commanding officer/lord and outside of battle most of his 25+ year career was probably just. Management.#with how messy bulma is geets is probably a major asset. I bet her lab/office is never more organized than when he's home#that said it is VERY funny to think that he was annoyingly rigid and getting in the way of Bulma's creative process at the beginning of#the 7 year gap so she just started giving him Very Important random busywork to stave off his depression but keep him out of her way#We know geets is also scientific and I hc he knows some basic mechanical engineering (to keep from falling victim to a ship breaking down)#nothing super advanced but enough to help out here and there and at least offer alien solutions to earthling tech problems#maybe she made him help her âfixâ the gravity room and then test it out and that's how he started training again aw

Self driving cars are far from inevitable. And its far from certain they will be safer than human drivers. In fact its very likely that they will at most be equivalent to them because of corner cutting and overhyping.
Nazi shithead elon musk brands tesla's fancy lane keep assist as "full self driving" while also cutting out LIDAR and ultrasonic sensors to save a dollar or two per vehicle.
People take him on his word *as he intended to make Tesla stock go up* and then the cars do shit like this. (TW road death)
youtube
They also updated the software last year to "drive more like a human" which has made it aggressively violate road laws. One shitty over the air update like that one that killed IT systems globally last year and the cars will fucking forget what brakes are and run over thousands of people at once or brick in the middle of a blizzard so they freeze to death whilst being unable to get out of the car. Or hell have a glitch in how they remember their surroundings and run over people like in the video.
You could even do that on purpose if you're clever. Imagine ten thousand car vs crowd attacks at once.
Because you know these companies have shit cybersecurity. Personal data leaks happen all the fucking time. The assholes currently violating article 1 of the us constitution are using fucking gmail for classified info and personal data they stole from the government.
Automated train control and autopilot for planes have been a thing for decades but they still can't completely eliminate the vehicle operator. And they absolutely would if they could. Roads are a very crowded and complex environment. Making these cars drive themselves and do it safer than a human is a herculean task that probably won't happen because the manufacturer can just slap the self driving name on it and call it a day.
And yes I know I've mentioned conspiracy theorist and fascist musk here a lot. This is because he's the biggest individual player in this space. But, even if he keels over tomorrow while tweeting on the toilet about how much he loved apartheid the situation with self driving cars wont meaningfully change.
A much more effective (and cheaper!) solution to car related deaths is modifying the roads themselves. Ideally you also want to have more buses and bike lanes too. But, just small changes to roads and intersections alone reduce deaths and serious injury by a lot.
In addition. Its not just the crashes that kill people. Its the air and ground pollution too. Tens of thousands of people a year die from that. Many more get sick. Self driving and even electric cars are not a solution to that problem. They still generate particulates and other emissions. The only solution is reducing the number of cars needed.
dead-easy prophecy to make about the future:
self-driving cars are going to get good enough to become legal. at some point. i dunno when; there's been overpromising and hype cycles about it for like a decade now- but at some point it gets there.
they're going to kill someone every single day. every single day, a self-driving car will make a mistake and someone will die as a result. it will be in the news constantly- we're going to call them, like, "slaughter machines", and talk about how the self-driving car business is run by literal blood money.
and this is going to happen even if they're ten times safer than human drivers and actively saving lives.
in just the US, there's 100+ vehicle fatalities per day. if 10% of the cars on the road are self-driving and they're 10x safer than human drivers, there's going to be 1+ fatalities per day. every single one of them is going to make the news. some of them are going to be photogenic children. everyone is going to have a story to tell about a friend of a friend whose friend died in a self-driving crash. it'll be common knowledge! everyone knows that these things are incredibly unsafe, and that getting into one is highly irresponsible.
(we know this will happen because it's already happening! everyone knows that Teslas are shitty cars that spontaneously catch fire all the time, even though there's ~43k annual vehicular fires in the US, and 1% of the cars on the road are Teslas, so you should expect ~430 annual Tesla fires but there's actually like 50-something. 50-something is enough for something new that people already hate to be in the news every single week! they got that nasty musk all over them- and self-driving cars are definitely going to have that nasty musk all over them.)
i don't have any illusions that making a tumblr post about this is going to stop this from happening, but know that once it does start happening i will be shaking my head condescendingly about it every time i see it.
#Youtube#the tech is cool but its a distraction from real solutions#i really wish i could be unambiguously excited about it like i was back when DARPA ran a race between a bunch of self driving prototypes#but i just have too many doubts about its use in consumer applications#and take great issue with the testing on public roads with inattentive backup drivers#they really should be driving in pairs at the very least so that they can both command the car to stop before hitting a pedestrian#though as the video illustrates the car wont necessaroly give you any indication things have gone wrong until its too late#fuck man#forgetting obstacles happens all the time in the testing#the cars dont know how to stop in construction zones when a lollipop is in use either

Why SaaS Reviews Are Crucial
If youâre running a SaaS business, then a review website should be a crucial part of your SaaS marketing strategy.
Online reviews are critical. If you find yourself neglecting this fact, just remember that around 93% of consumers claim that reviews they found on the internet influenced their decision to buy something. Itâs also interesting to note that over 90% of consumers aged 18-34 say that they trust online reviews just as much as personal recommendations. These numbers show that online reviews are essential for a SaaS product.

"A German bio-tech company has developed a naturally-occurring enzyme discovered in a cemetery into a near-market ready solution for recycling plastic without any loss of quality.
In 2022, GNN reported on a paper published by Leipzig-based scientists who first identified the enzyme. At the time, the enzyme was subject to a small side-by-side test, and caused the polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic to decompose by a whopping 90%.

Pictured: Before and After: A container of PET after 24 hours of contact with the enzyme leaves only dye
Fast forward to the spring of 2025 and those same scientists have perfected the capabilities of that enzyme, called PHL7, and have founded ESTER Biotech to bring those capabilities to market.
Their initial plan to be finished next year is a bathtub-sized pilot project reactor. If successful, their 2030 plan will be four 350 cubic-meter reactors capable of processing 45,000 metric tons of PET plastic every year.
PHL7 and ESTER Biotech boast several advantages over chemical and thermal recycling methods. For starters, once the polymers of PET are broken by the enzyme into monomers, or single component parts, they have suffered no degradation of their material characteristics unlike some recycled plastic which is weaker or less stable.
Additionally, PHL7 is exceptionally stable from 32 to 203 degrees Fahrenheit (0-95°C), and per kilogram of plastic, a dose of only 0.02% to 0.06% of the enzyme is requiredâsubstantially less than existing alternatives. Their new version of the enzyme also recycles the plastic several hours faster.
âOur technology makes it possible to bring material flows that are currently burned back to the beginning of the cycle at the molecular level,â says Christian Sonnendecker, lead author on the paper of the enzymeâs discovery, and co-founder of ESTER Biotech at the University of Leipzig. âAnd with high energy efficiency and scalability.â
âWe are only at the beginning. But we are convinced that when science, entrepreneurial spirit and social responsibility come together, a cemetery enzyme can become a beacon of hope for a better future.â
RECYCLING BREAKTHROUGHS:Â
Scientists in Japan Develop Non-Toxic Plastic That Dissolves in Seawater Within Hours
Cornell Researchers Create First-of-its-Kind Durable and Recyclable Plastic
New Process âVaporizesâ Plastic Bags and Bottles to Help Make Recycled Materials
Revolutionary New âLiving Plasticâ That Could Slash Damage to the Environment Developed by California Researchers
ESTER Biotechâs enzyme is able to separate certain multilayer composites which are normally thought of as unrecyclable. In addition to the infrastructure of the pilot project, ESTER is currently working with two medium-sized partners to build a cost-efficient supply chain with an aim to reduce the enzyme price to between 100 and 200 euros per kilogram.
Though no currently-commercialized recycling method can compete with the cost of virgin plastic, a price between 100 and 200 euros will put it in line with existing competitors.
Fortunately for anyone in the space, the EU is not afraid to use heavy-handed regulation to guarantee plastic recycling rates. By 2040, under existing EU legislation, 65% of plastic production will be mandated to come from recycled sources. ESTER believes that with its potential to offer a higher quality ârecyclate,â the incentive to pursue and expand enzymatic methods will increase."

What We Learned from Flying a Helicopter on Mars
The Ingenuity Mars Helicopter made history â not only as the first aircraft to perform powered, controlled flight on another world â but also for exceeding expectations, pushing the limits, and setting the stage for future NASA aerial exploration of other worlds.
Built as a technology demonstration designed to perform up to five experimental test flights over 30 days, Ingenuity performed flight operations from the Martian surface for almost three years. The helicopter ended its mission on Jan. 25, 2024, after sustaining damage to its rotor blades during its 72nd flight.
So, what did we learn from this small but mighty helicopter?
We can fly rotorcraft in the thin atmosphere of other planets.
Ingenuity proved that powered, controlled flight is possible on other worlds when it took to the Martian skies for the first time on April 19, 2021.
Flying on planets like Mars is no easy feat: The Red Planet has a significantly lower gravity â one-third that of Earthâs â and an extremely thin atmosphere, with only 1% the pressure at the surface compared to our planet. This means there are relatively few air molecules with which Ingenuityâs two 4-foot-wide (1.2-meter-wide) rotor blades can interact to achieve flight.
Ingenuity performed several flights dedicated to understanding key aerodynamic effects and how they interact with the structure and control system of the helicopter, providing us with a treasure-trove of data on how aircraft fly in the Martian atmosphere.
Now, we can use this knowledge to directly improve performance and reduce risk on future planetary aerial vehicles.

Creative solutions and âingenuityâ kept the helicopter flying longer than expected.
Over an extended mission that lasted for almost 1,000 Martian days (more than 33 times longer than originally planned), Ingenuity was upgraded with the ability to autonomously choose landing sites in treacherous terrain, dealt with a dead sensor, dusted itself off after dust storms, operated from 48 different airfields, performed three emergency landings, and survived a frigid Martian winter.
Fun fact: To keep costs low, the helicopter contained many off-the-shelf-commercial parts from the smartphone industry - parts that had never been tested in deep space. Those parts also surpassed expectations, proving durable throughout Ingenuityâs extended mission, and can inform future budget-conscious hardware solutions.
There is value in adding an aerial dimension to interplanetary surface missions.
Ingenuity traveled to Mars on the belly of the Perseverance rover, which served as the communications relay for Ingenuity and, therefore, was its constant companion. The helicopter also proved itself a helpful scout to the rover.
After its initial five flights in 2021, Ingenuity transitioned to an âoperations demonstration,â serving as Perseveranceâs eyes in the sky as it scouted science targets, potential rover routes, and inaccessible features, while also capturing stereo images for digital elevation maps.
Airborne assets like Ingenuity unlock a new dimension of exploration on Mars that we did not yet have â providing more pixels per meter of resolution for imaging than an orbiter and exploring locations a rover cannot reach.
Tech demos can pay off big time.
Ingenuity was flown as a technology demonstration payload on the Mars 2020 mission, and was a high risk, high reward, low-cost endeavor that paid off big. The data collected by the helicopter will be analyzed for years to come and will benefit future Mars and other planetary missions.
Just as the Sojourner rover led to the MER-class (Spirit and Opportunity) rovers, and the MSL-class (Curiosity and Perseverance) rovers, the team believes Ingenuityâs success will lead to future fleets of aircraft at Mars.
In general, NASAâs Technology Demonstration Missions test and advance new technologies, and then transition those capabilities to NASA missions, industry, and other government agencies. Chosen technologies are thoroughly ground- and flight-tested in relevant operating environments â reducing risks to future flight missions, gaining operational heritage and continuing NASAâs long history as a technological leader.
youtube
You can fall in love with robots on another planet.
Following in the tracks of beloved Martian rovers, the Ingenuity Mars Helicopter built up a worldwide fanbase. The Ingenuity team and public awaited every single flight with anticipation, awe, humor, and hope.
Check out #ThanksIngenuity on social media to see whatâs been said about the helicopterâs accomplishments.

why do you think indie metroidvanias specifically take so long to make, and is there a solution that you'd like to see them go for? (i know that would likely mean a compromise of some kind, but like, you know)
The reason why is fairly obvious: the classic metroidvania formula makes it very easy to fall prey to unintentional scope creep and is a positive nightmare to QA.
Non-linear progression gating based on precision platforming challenges where the player's basic moveset is constantly changing means every little thing needs to be rigorously tested in every part of the gameworld, carefully checking every room with every combination of abilities the player could conceivably possess for a wide range of failure states.
Is there some combination of abilities that allows the player to get into this room, but not out of it afterwards? Is there some combination of abilities that allows the player to do things in an order you didn't expect? Does that variation in sequencing in turn create situations where the player can end up somewhere without an ability you had assumed was required to get there? And so forth.
Even once you've got everything tested, it's not over. Every tiny change during development, even as small as adding or subtracting a couple of percentage points from the player character's jumping height or walking speed, can potentially have a domino effect that introduces a whole new set of failure states. It's not a pretty picture!
As for solutions, the one most solo or small-team metroidvanias end up adopting is to put a damper on the exponential QA explosion by linearising progression. If you haven't flipped the right switch or visited the right room, the door simply doesn't open, the progression-critical cutscene simply doesn't trigger, and so forth. Even big-name metroidvanias often make judicious use of this one: for example, Super Metroid has certain doors in the early game that just arbitrarily will not open until you've collected a couple of specific items from the game's combat-free introductory area.
The trouble with this approach is that if you use it to the extent that's necessary to keep your QA responsibilities at a manageable level for a small team or solo developer, you functionally end up with a linear, level-based platformer that makes you walk from one level to the next. Whether this disqualifies a given title from the "metroidvania" label is a demarcation problem I'm not interested in litigating, but folks who expected a more open world experience are quite understandably going to be disappointed.
The approach I'd prefer more indie metroidvanias take is to keep things under control by limiting their scope. Not ever damn thing needs to be the next Hollow Knight; many classics of the genre can be completed in well under an hour with good routing even without employing modern speedrun tech. Similarly, some of the best indie metroidvanias are those with the smallest maps; Alruna and the Necro-Industrialists, probably the best example of open-world map design of any metroidvania published in 2024, has a map that's scarcely twenty by twenty screens, and its routing is downright fiendish.
(One of my perennial probably-never-gonna-happen projects is to design a full-featured metroidvania targeting a two to three hour casual playthrough whose entire map can fit on a single screen while remaining at a vaguely playable zoom level, in the style of titles like 1 Screen Platformer.)

Can I request a Miguel O'Hara x Curvy reader where they both get intoxicated from sex pollen ??
[Sticky-Icky]
lab taster: @waterinthefire đ©»
pairing: Miguel O'Hara x Curvy!Reader
summary: He's a lot less irritating when he puts his mouth to better use.
content warning: a PWP but you guys know me (there's a little plot), this is so 18+ that it's crazy so MDNI, sex pollen (or more like Miguel is playing around and doesn't know wtf he's doing), unprotected p in v sex (WRAP IT UP đ«”đŸ) manhandling, temperature play if you squint, standing 69, facefucking, creampies, wrong use of webs, biting, breeding, spitting, squirting, cunnilingus, fellatio, fluff if you squint...I think that's it. my god.
word count: 4.3k, halfway proofread
a/n: Listening to Sticky by Ravyn Lenae inspired part of this. Also watching several episodes of Kitchen Nightmares, Hellâs Kitchen, and Law & Order: SVU in the bg kept me sane. And one more rewatch of ATSV.
My duty as a fanfic writer is fulfilled as I give you this mandatory trope. đ«Ą
When you first started working at Spider HQ, you were amazed by the fact that one man was able to create all of this.
It was astounding, beyond what the gray tones of Nueva York could ever present to you.
Now, you think back to your glittering eyes during the first year working here and laugh.
Working for Miguel OâHara was like squeezing a watermelon through a straw. He was impossible.
Nothing you did was ever satisfactory for him. Something could always be fixed. Sometimes, you wonder why he still kept you employed here.
Currently, he was turning his nose up at a salve you were working on for spiders whose healing time wasnât nearly as quick as others.
âRun a new test. This batch is no good.â
âWhatâs wrong with it?â
âThe formula could be better, itâs too thick, and why does it smell like that?â
The scent was similar to one you wore often and a lot of the spider-people that swung by the pharmacy seemed to like it.
âUh, jade tea.â
The pinch in Miguelâs eyebrows deepened as he sniffed the air.
âSwitch it to something else.â
You huffed, already tired of this conversation, âWell, what smell do you suggest?â
âAnything but this.â
âHow about lavender, then? Perhaps peppermint.â
âAnd now, youâre being childish,â Miguel put the tin down before placing his hands on his hips. âYou know thereâs spider-people who canât smell too much of that.â
âYeah, I got it.â
He plopped a giant file on your desk, âDeal with that later. I need you to work on something else. For some reason, villains across dimensions are obtaining access to a substance similar to rapture. Every time thereâs a mission, the spider-person of that dimension has been left affected. I need something to subside the effects until we can get them back here.â
âOk, well do you have the substance with you?â
âNo. But Iâll get you something soon. For now, I have a yearâs worth of research on rapture. It should be of some use.â
You took the rubber band off of the manilla folder, something so old school for this era of tech.
You saw a line of formulas that started to make your head spin.
âAre there a lot of people affected right now?â
âOnly a few. Theyâve used the leftover solution I made a long time ago. Itâs only going to work for so long,â
âGood. I need to sleep on this.â
Miguelâs head knocked back an inch, âAre you refusing work? The state of the heroes of different universes relies on this research. Itâs not some science project-â
âI understand completely, Miguel, but Iâm off the clock.â
He stopped and checked his watch, the red six oâclock burning back on him.
âI only work the hours you pay me, Spidey,â you reach to pat his arm and regret it when his stern face doesnât move.
âNot interested in paid overtime?â
You bit your cheek to stop the laugh from coming out.
âThatâs nice and all, but Iâve got plans.â
âLike what?â
âLike resting, sleeping, not touching lab work with a you-sized pole. All of these are things you arenât familiar with. Plus, I have a date.â
A pause went through the room as you started to gather your things.
âSince when do you date?â
You push your chair under your desk harder than you mean to, âSince when do you care?â
âI,â he follows to the elevator, âcare about my employees.â
âSure, Miguel.â
If it werenât for your tired state, you would think he looks a little sad at your statement.
âSee you tomorrow, then?â
The doors start to close as you nod your head, Miguelâs gaze stuck just above your head.
Weird. Just like his frequent stops to your lab.
The feeling doesnât leave your gut even as youâre smiling in your dateâs face.
One minute, youâre laughing at a story about some amateur skateboarders Downtown, and the next, an electric billboard is being covered in tiny nano-spiders across the street.
âSo the guy just takes one step on the board and then heâs flying. A straight line across the park.â
âThatâs,â the spiders start to crawl into different lines. Then a logo forms, displaying the spider on Miguelâs suit next to an exclamation point. âSo hilarious.â
Your date chuckles then follows your gaze, the silence too long, âIs there something wrong?â
The nano-spiders flipped around, the regular billboard showing like normal. You squint.
âNo, I thought I saw something. Must have been my imagination.â
âYou did say you were a little tired from work. Should we raincheck? We can always catch a movie another time.â
You wanted to say no, youâd been looking forward to tonight.
The billboard flickered to a little picture of Lyla with âSOSâ above her head.
âYeah, I should probably get going. Sorry about this.â
The way he doesnât sweat you practically ditching him makes your heart pang. Youâre already dreading another night exhausted and alone. Your date seemed promising.
You wave at him from your taxi, the route leading back to Spider HQ feeling like torture. You unclasp your purse and check your gizmo.
40 missed messages.
Itâs not until youâre walking into the regular lobby that you turn it on.
âWhat is so important that you waste Margoâs time to interrupt my time?â
Lyla pops in your peripheral, hands up and wary, âIâm only doing what boss asks! Donât get mad at me.â
âLyla, why am I back here right now?â
âWell, Miguel has gotten himself in some particular trouble.â
You punch the elevator button, âGet to the point, please.â
âHe went into your lab to try and start the solution he talked about earlier. After his first accident, heâs never had any luck with lab work, so uh. Heâs kind of made a mess.â
The elevator moves and you look at Lyla, âWhat kind of mess?â
The doors open and you can smell it before you see it.
Itâs poignant, like perfume soaked roses and patchouli. The scent hits you hard enough to make you grip the metal opening as you come out.
âWhat exactly did he do?â you breathe out.
Your limbs start to shake, nerves drumming from the inside out. A weight feels like it landed on your core, your stomach twitching as you continued to take in whatever had transpired.
âSomething about DNA splicing and plants. I can trace his movements back if youâd like, but Iâm also currently trying to figure out how to reverse it.â
âGreat.â
You swing open the door to a disheveled Miguel. Heâs sweating profusely as he tries to clean up your lab desk.
Before you can even begin to yell heâs fussing, âLyla, I told you not to call her!â
âBut you obviously donât know what youâre doing.â
He bites his lip as he tries not to look at you, fingers trembling as he starts to store materials back into their drawers.
âThought you had a date.â
âAnd I thought I told you stay away from my station,â you feel like a baby deer walking over to him.
When you get closer he sucks in his breath like you cut him, stopping in his tracks.
âI donât think you should be near me,â he grunts. His eyes are dark, lips swollen with the way heâs biting them.
âWhat are you talking about? Iâm trying to help you.â
You round the corner of the desk, the image of you two almost comical. Miguel moves to the edge of the desk, chest moving faster, while you chase after him trying to get a hand on his forehead.
He felt extremely cold compared to the numbness of your palm, despite how flushed he looked. His eyes close as your hand slides from his head to his neck, muscles there tensing.
âPlease. Donât,â he whispers.
âWho else is coming here to save you?â you ask, frustrated. âWhat did you do anyway?â
He doesnât answer as he peers at you. Your heart is beating faster and you canât tell if itâs because of the air or because of the way he looks like heâs about to climb you.
Every move you made felt like sharp pricks in your skin, the tight material of your dress digging into your hips. It felt like the ends of burning flames and you wanted it off. Your breaths were picking up and you couldnât quite comprehend what was going on other than Miguel being your cooling solution.
âMiguel,â you sounded like you ran a marathon when all you did was step into his space.
âItâs the shocking formula that I screwed up. Thatâs why everything feels-â
âLike I need you,â you interrupt. âLike I want you on top of me.â
The insides of your thighs were fighting against themselves to stay together, the urge to let your legs fall around him strong.
âThatâs just the chemicals talking. W-we can get somewhere safe and separated.â
You grab the back of his neck and pull yourself even closer, his hands gripping the table like a lifeline as he groans.
âSo you donât want me?â you press against him, caging a knee around him right next to his hand. âYou donât think about me?â
You can almost feel his heartbeat matching yours as you pull yourself up.
âI didnât say that.â
âYou donât wonder how I feel when you come into my lab snooping around? How I feel when you come in here barking orders?â
Your face is in his neck and you feel yourself clench around nothing as you take a deep breath. He smells like coffee and fabric softener, but thereâs an underlying wave of musk. Of something so unbelievably him and you want to keep that scent close forever.
âI imagine youâre annoyed. But a job is a job.â
âBut you still come in here asking for things you know someone else can do,â your panties are soaked, and from the way his nose flares, you know he knows. âWhy?â
His teeth grit as you start to grind on him, the feeling giving you an inch of relief that only makes you want more.
âI, I donât- Itâs because I,â the counter began to crack under his hands. His muscles were pulled taut. âDios, ayĂșdame.â
Maybe you were wrong, and your hazy mind only brought thoughts from the subconscious one.
âFine. I get that you donât like me but could you at least give me some type of relief?â you were whining in his ears at this point, a complete 180 of how you left him earlier today. With every grind of your hips, you left noises in his skin, desperate.
The desk made a terrible sound as Miguel finally lets go and grabs around your waist. Your breath is slammed out of you as your back hits the wall, Miguelâs hand holding your head to stop it from crashing into the wall too.
Your throat makes a gargled sound as Miguel licks down your jaw, his talons ripping into your dress. His tongue swipes into your mouth, breaths rapid as he finally gets a taste.
âI do like you. More than I should,â his words were passed right into you. âYou and your smart mouth.â
âThen stop talking and do something about it.â
A yank in your hair stops your complaints, Miguel kissing down your side. Every press of his lips left a chilly flutter. Your hips are moving frantically, patience wearing thin. Right as youâre about to say something again, he flips you, the layers of your dress falling as he rips into your panties.
The blood rushes to your head as he takes a bite into your thigh, sucking as your legs fall to his shoulders.
You moan his name, hands gripping at his thighs. His kisses led to your lips, swollen and dripping. From your clit to your entrance, he groaned as he covered you, drinking like you were water in the middle of the night.
You felt like you were going to slip, but Miguelâs arms were looped around your legs, not letting go. His suit was in your way, your mouth salivating as his crotch stared back at you. Your fingers could only dig as far as his suit allows and you have half a mind to call Lyla to disengage it.
âPlease,â you sigh as you rub his bulge with your cheek. âI need it so bad.â
âCĂĄllate,â he hums, face delving deeper into you. The sound of him licking up every drop echos off the cool walls and the light of his suit dims away letting you see what youâve been waiting for.
His length hits your chin, precum spilling down and youâve never been more excited for a man to go commando. You open your mouth and let your breath hit him as you take a swipe down to his balls.
Miguelâs grunts and shifts his hips back. His tip swerves around your face as he tries to find your mouth without unlatching his jaw from your sex. You help out with the last bit of sanity you have, and once you wrap your lips around him, his hips snap hard onto you.
All you can feel is Miguel entering you from top to bottom, his hands keeping you stationed in your position. Thereâs no room to do anything as heâs devouring you and taking your breath away at the same time. Two of his fingers sink into you, and you jerk from the difference between his skin and his tongue.
Miguel nibbles at the hood of your clit, urging you to be still. Whenever his fingers leave you, his pelvis fills your senses. Your throat gags around him, spit building to keep up with his thrusts.
âSo good,â he hums. His pace picks up and the tears in your eyes fall to the floor. âMade for me. Only me.â
Your fingers wrap around his thighs and squeeze tight, your vision fading as you try to take in pockets of air. The shake in your legs and the broken moans that escaped your lips only ignited him.
âBebĂ©,â his hips stutter. Heâs sloppy as he drools over the entrance, voice loud. âBebĂ©, youâre so, ngh.â
He cums down your throat, balls twitching against your face. You close your eyes and try to swallow everything, jaw aching. Miguel groans your name as he slides his dick out to the tip, a few spurts still landing on your lips. You cough, position making everything go north.
The taste of him was delicious, but you needed more of him elsewhere. Your mouth was as drenched as your cunt and yet you still felt empty.
When Miguel flips you back upright, youâre ready to pounce on him again. The state of you both is alarming. Your breasts have completely fallen out of your dress, that black thing barely holding on by its zipper. Miguelâs suit is phasing in and out in the most obscene places. Thereâs slick up to his eyebrows and his cum is all over your cheeks.
He grabs your jaw and runs his tongue over your face, cleaning up his mess. You let him live in his own bubble before that burning in your core came back.
Your nails dig into his shoulders and your whispers of âmoreâ come to light. Youâre clawing at him like a cat begging him to do something, anything, to make this feeling go away.
âMiguel,â you gasp as he sinks his teeth into your skin. âMiguel, it hurts. Fix it, Miggy, please.â
You guide his hands down your body and place them on your ass. His touch sates you for only a moment, but your body reacts as if he needs to be deep in your bones. He spreads your ass and groans as the sound of how eager you are for him follows.
âYouâre not ready,â are the words that make you even more frustrated. Your hands pushing and pulling at him, ready to try and put him where you want him to go.
He clicks his teeth and flexes his wrists. His webs tie your wrists together, neon red strings leaving a buzz on your skin. He yanks your dress off and you stumble with the motions.
The clinical room doesnât aid the building heat you feel, but Miguel turning you around and pressing you into the wall as he cuts the rest of your panties off does.
He squats and grabs two hands full of you.
He spits onto your hole, mesmerized as he watches it slide to your entrance. âQuĂ© hermosa,â he whispers.
You bend, whimpering as your folds cover his nose, clenching and grinding.
âGod,â you sigh. Something this small was going to bring you to the edge so quickly. âD-donât stop.â
âGreedy,â Miguel says as if heâs not moving the fat of your ass to nudge his face into you. The arch in your back deepens as he continues and your whines get higher.
He smacks your right cheek, sound echoing off the metal tables, and you shout his name as you coat his tongue.
Tranquility clears your mind for a second, one where the flowery scent in the air is less strong.
The peace leaves just as fast as it came when Miguel gets rid of his suit and stands behind you in all of his glory.
His eyes followed from your dewey face to the curve of your hips to bitten thighs to feet with one heel still on.
âHe didnât deserve to see this,â he says.
âW-what?â
Miguel ignores you and pulls your wrists up straight, a confused noise leaving you. He wraps another web around your ankles and huffs. He sets your arms under your chest, your hands in front of you like a prayer.
When he picks you up by your waist, his dick lines up with your ass.
He groans as he grinds, watching himself disappear and reappear.
You try to move with him, âNo, not there. Inside.â
âYouâre always so distracting,â he growls. He slides his length between your thick thighs and you nearly scream as his hips hit your ass, his tip just barely passing over your clit. âCan never think straight when I see you.â
He rubbed over the bite he left on your shoulder, âSo pretty. My pretty baby.â
His low voice right in your ears only made you wetter. He was holding you like you were his toy, fucking the inside of your thighs with ease.
Miguel could cry watching your ass bounce on his stomach. Your legs were soft and warm and he just couldnât stop.
âWant you so bad. Need to fuck you again and again and again,â he said as your thighs quivered around him.
âPlease, Miguel. Make me yours,â your voice crowded the sound of his grunts as he held you up and pounded away.
Those were the magic words to get him to lean back with a firm grip on you and release all over the wall. It was everywhere, from your legs to the wall to the ceiling.
He set you to the floor with shaky arms, and you started to sob.
All of this and you still wanted more. If this was making you feel this insane, you can only imagine the small relief Miguel was feeling after being exposed for longer.
âCâmere,â he pulls you to the bare floor and cuts the webs. You immediately try to climb him, legs wrapping around his waist.
He was painfully hard for someone who came twice now.
Your cries of âinsideâ slur together, tears running down your face. Miguel was no better, fangs dripping with venom and the hairs on skin raised.
The two of you tussle as Miguel tries to keep your hips to stay stationary. You kept jerking in order to get some sort of friction but he was baring his teeth to get you to quit.
You dip your nails into his shoulders and arms while he drags a talon down your sternum to snap your bra off.
A clatter of your stiletto sounds off across the room as he pinches your thigh, âEasy, beautiful. Let me take care of you, yeah?â
âFucking hurry,â you whine.
He shushes as he plunges inside of you, the noise you both make as loud as a choir.
Your eyes roll back as Miguel presses, bending your body in half.
âYouâre going to be the death of me,â Miguel leans to whisper onto your lips.
Tight is the first thing that comes to mind and heat is the next.
He moves his hips up and slams back down, your ass shifting from the pressure.
âMiguel!â
âThatâs it. Talk to me.â All of that chatter earlier and now you can barely get out a word.
âH-harder,â your hands donât know where to go. Theyâre grabbing Miguel, theyâre falling next to your head, theyâre grabbing at your breasts as Miguel jerks your body.
Miguel goes to open your jaw, lips pulling on your tongue to suck. Itâs tender and sensual compared to the way his balls are slapping against you. Thereâs a ring of white on his shaft getting thicker and thicker as he continues.
âPretty thing,â he says as he lets your tongue go, a string of saliva falling to your neck. âWatched you on the cameras. Always.â
That stirs something in you, a spark in your chest as you see stars.
âDid you want to do this to me when you watched me?â you manage out.
âYes.â
âI can put on a show for you next time.â
âYes.â
âYou can come in here. âN fuck me over the counter.â
âSĂ, sĂ, baby,â his hands push your knees next to your head and he ruts against you. His thighs were straining as he took and took.
A yell pulls itself from your core, that burning feeling getting a crash of cold water. The dam bursts and youâre running all over Miguel, essence leaving every time he inches out and back in.
âGonna fill you up,â he rasps, eyes glazed over.
You nod your head, clenching and pulsing around him.
His eyes donât leave yours as he shudders against you. You suck him in, gaining a deep moan from him, âAsĂ, bebĂ©. Take it.â
Itâs like you can finally think as his cum overflows, your heart rate finally slowing.
He stares at you as you both come back to reality. Your body is limp, the weight of Miguel making itself known.
âHoly shit,â you wiggle and he catches the hint. He lifts a bit and pulls out. The swirl of you two falls out of you in waves. âWhat. The fuck.â
âGod,â Miguel mumbles. âNo shocking way we just did that.â
âYou canât say that when the evidence is leaking out of me.â
Miguel groans as he watches you, your face pouty and your hole glistening. It was intoxicating.
His dick twitches, coming to life again the longer he watches.
ââM sorry in advance,â he says as he pulls you into his lap.
âJust take care of it, OâHara.â
The two of you sat in the middle of the floor, breathing hard. Pieces of consciousness were starting to come back.
âYou looked stunning tonight,â Miguel said. He looked at your shredded dress on the floor. âIâm glad he wonât see you in that dress anymore.â
The snort that leaves your nose turns into a full-blown laugh.
âWhatâs so funny?â
âYou just took my soul ten times over and youâre worried about a guy I just met less than a week ago. I fear Iâm ruined for anyone else.â
âOh,â he smiles. âGood.â
âYou still should take me on a date. Youâve got a lot to explain.â
Flashes of him confessing to his habit of watching you from afar come back, âO-of course.â
âAnd you owe me a new dress.â
âOn it.â
Lyla pops up next to you both, a blindfold over her shades, âIs it safe to talk to you guys now?â
Miguel checks his gizmo, âI think weâre good for about forty minutes. The effects are starting to wear off.â
âExcellent!â She throws the fabric to the side, âOh my god, this room is a mess.â
You look at the array of substances over the room and grimace. The entire hall will have to be on lockdown.
âWell, I managed to vent out the solution. You two should be ok soon.â
You lean on Miguelâs chest and close your eyes, happy to hear good news.
âKind of sad that this is what it took for you to confess, Miguel,â she comments.
âLyla!â
You laugh again, âSome confession.â
âThatâs enough,â Miguel scowls.
Your giggles die down as you pull yourself onto Miguelâs thigh, bubbles in your chest molding into moans as you start to grind over his thigh.
âIâm starting to think you guys are just bluffing,â Lyla gags before she disappears. âLet me know when youâre done.â
âI think,â you nuzzle into his neck, âthisâll be the last time. Iâm tired.â
âIf not, we can take it to my house.â
The world blurs again as you and Miguel connect under the white lights.

Across Africa, many rural communities face a growing sanitation crisis. Wastewater treatment systems, where they exist, are often old, overloaded, or broken. In some towns, untreated sewage flows directly into rivers, contaminating water sources and harming both ecosystems and public health.
For decades, the global response to wastewater has been to clean the water in large wastewater facilities designed to remove physical, chemical and biological contaminants from domestic wastewater (toilets) or industrial effluent. Wastewater plants produce treated water that is safe to discharge into rivers.
But theyâre expensive and energy intensive. Theyâre also difficult to maintain in rural areas where local government doesnât get much revenue.
a team of scientists led by environmental management researcher and professor Paul Oberholster, who set out to look for a much simpler and greener solution in a small town in South Africaâs Limpopo province. Our research found that algae â the same green organisms often dismissed as pond scum â could offer a low-cost, low-tech way to clean domestic sewage.
The team inserted tiny microalgae into the ponds at the Motetema Wastewater Treatment Works in Limpopo. The microalgae removed pathogens without using any chemicals or mechanical equipment that runs on electricity. They cleaned up the sewage from 1,560 homes.
This is a sustainable, low-cost approach to wastewater treatment that can improve public health and the environment in small towns, especially those with limited infrastructure and unreliable electricity. And itâs especially important to find ways of cleaning wastewater that donât cost much or use electricity because climate change increases water stress and energy costs across the continent.

Personal Bodyguard
pairing: tony stark x male reader tags: you can't tell me Tony isn't bi or at least experimented in his youth, you become his personal bodyguard after the cave fiasco and iron man revelation, enemies-to-friends-to lovers, Tony really needs a hug, reader is set to become his friend (and more), military background
Youâre used to working in tense environments. The military taught you that complacency is death and that vigilance is survival. Youâve seen your fair share of conflict, learned to read people and situations at a glance. Thatâs probably why Pepper Potts sought you out after Tony Starkâs dramatic return from Afghanistan. She looked you up and down with calculating eyes, recognized a bit of herself in your âdonât mess with meâ attitude, and decided on the spotâyou were the best candidate to protect Tony Stark from himself, and from the new, dangerous world he was plunging into.
Tonyâs penthouse overlooks the Malibu coastline, the sun reflecting off the ocean waves and onto polished floors. There he standsâfresh from the workshop, grease on his tank top and that lopsided grin that only half-masks the shadows under his eyes. He spots you, sizes you up, and crosses his arms. âPep, this is the solution you found?â Tony gestures at you dismissively. âA glorified babysitter?â
Pepper forces a polite smile. âA bodyguard, Tony.â You donât rise to his bait. The best reaction here is none at allâjust a stony expression. Let him get it out of his system. He cocks an eyebrow at your silence, clearly expecting some snark in return.
âFine,â he says, turning on his heel. âFollow me. Or donât. Whatever." Pepper shakes her head apologetically as she goes to leave. Before she goes, she places a hand on your shoulder, giving you an unspoken good luck. You already know youâll need it.
Tony tries his best to make your life difficult. Heâll disappear from his home at odd hours, use his snark to try and aggravate you, or do something reckless like attempt a suit flight test above the Malibu cliffs. However, you're never that far behind and your patience is endless. One night, heâs just touched down too hard in the Mark II, crashing through his garage and damaging several of his expensive cars. You rush in, weapon at the ready, scanning for threats.
âRelax,â Tony says, struggling to peel off the broken armor. âItâs just me doing some, uh, routine test improvements.â You exhale slowly, then calmly dismantle your sidearm. No threatsâexcept the one Tony poses to himself.
âYou know,â you say eventually, picking up a piece of the shattered gauntlet, âif you keep messing around with these half-finished upgrades, eventually I wonât just be your bodyguard. Iâll be the one scraping you off the ground.â
Tony stares at you, momentarily struck by the genuine concern in your voice, before clearing his throat. âPoint taken,â he mutters, but for the first time, he seems less antagonisticâand almost thankful.
The slow thaw between you and Tony continues. He starts sharing details of the Iron Man suit, half to show off and half because heâs realized youâre more at ease when you know everything thatâs going on. You learn that behind the smug exterior, Tony is propelled by guilt, determination, and a heart that aches to do genuine good. And for your part, despite your initial refusal to get personally involved, you find yourself caring about himâprotecting him matters, but so does understanding him.
Late nights often find the two of you in the workshop. Tonyâs hyper-focused on some new repulser tech while you stand guard, occasionally offering your own insight to whatever he was working on. Youâd never guess Tony would be the type to listen, but he does, especially when your suggestions keep him from blowing up half the lab. Heâll acknowledge your tips with a half-smile, or a nod that says more than words.
Pepper noticed the shift. Sheâd smile at you in passing, relief evident in her eyes. She once patted your shoulder and said, âYouâre good for him. He trusts you, and thatâs not something I say lightly.â Rhodey, Tonyâs closest friend, warmed up to you fast. He appreciated having another military mind around. When Tony got lost in his own arrogance, Rhodey and you would share an exasperated look.
Then everything changes again when Tony becomes an Avenger. Suddenly, itâs not just small-scale threats or paparazzi you have to worry aboutâitâs cosmic forces, alien invasions, global catastrophes. You do your best to keep Tony safe in these new, unpredictable situations, but itâs a challenge.
The Avengers team is a powder keg of personalities. Steve Rogers, Captain America himself, openly clashes with Tony over leadership and moral ideals. You see how the tension weighs on Tony; he deflects with sarcasm, but youâve come to know the signs of when heâs hurting.
One night at the tower, youâre standing off to the side while Tony and Steve butt headsâagain. "Take away the armor," Steve says, voice steely, "and what are you?" The words hang in the air. Tonyâs jaw tightens, and you can practically see his heart sink. Itâs a cheap shot. And itâs wrong. You step forward before Tony can snap back with a trademark insult. Thereâs a calm coolness in your voice, the kind that hushes even the Captain.
âTony Stark is the mind that built that suit,â you say evenly. âHeâs the one who sees solutions where everyone else sees dead ends. If you take away the armor, youâve still got the man who pulled himself out of a cave and saved his own life with scrap metalâbecause thatâs who he is. Heâs more than the suit, Rogers, and you know it.â
Steve meets your gaze and steps forward, but you arenât intimidated. There were lines you simply wouldnât let him cross, not tonight, not after he delivered that cheap shot at Tony without even knowing him. You can see Tony stiffen beside you, as if ready to jump inâor bolt. But youâre not about to let Steveâs words cut him down.
âThink very carefully about what you say next, Rogers,â you warn, voice low and steady. âBecause none of you would be hereïżœïżœAvengers, Stark Tower, anythingâif it werenât for this man. Armor or no armor.â
For a split second, you can feel everyoneâs eyes on you. Clint shifts uneasily near the back, Natasha straightens from her casual lean against the wall, and even Bruce lifts his head from the tablet heâs been absorbed in. Steveâs jaw tightens; he clearly didnât expect you to stand your ground so bluntlyâand you donât care. Your top priority is Tonyâs well-being, not theirs. With nothing more to say, you turn on your heel and head for the workshop.
By the time you reach the corridor leading to Tonyâs private workspace, the echo of your own footsteps has become a steady, reassuring beat. Only then do you register the soft tread following behind you. Heâs closeâbut conspicuously silent, which is out of character for a man who thrives on quips and banter.
âSir, you have arrived at the workshop,â Jarvisâs polite voice chimes overhead, and the door slides open with a hiss.
You step inside and finally turn around. Tony lingers just past the threshold, his eyes lowered. His silence seems almost heavy, like heâs struggling to find the right words. âI never asked you to defend me,â he murmurs. âBut youâŠyou did. Why?â The workshopâs lights glow softly, illuminating half-built armor pieces and scattered blueprints. You let the sound of humming machinery fill the short gap before you speak.
âBecause you needed someone to,â you say simply, though your voice carries an undercurrent of heatâresidual frustration from your confrontation with Steve. âAnd because I wanted to.â
Tonyâs gaze flickers upwardâhe looks uncertain, almost disarmed. âI can handle myself,â he says, though he doesnât quite meet your eyes. Itâs a weak protest, more habit than conviction.
You exhale, crossing your arms. âI know you can. Doesnât mean you have to face it alone. Especially when the hits are coming from the people supposed to have your back.â
âYou caught me off guard,â he admits, voice low, âstanding up for me like that. Especially in front of the team.â
You stand your ground, letting the seriousness of the moment settle in. âYou act like I never stand up for you.â
A wry huff of laughter escapes him. âNot the same way. Usually, youâre telling me not to blow up half my lab or reminding me to eat something other than coffee. This time you had my back when it counted.â
âIsnât that why Iâm here?â you ask, tilting your head. âIâm your bodyguard, Mr. Stark. That means I protect youâagainst outside threats and inside threats too. Even if that threatâs a super soldier with a knack for colorful speeches.â
âSo thatâs it?â he asks, a thin note of vulnerability in his tone. âYou did it because itâs your job?â You take in his tense postureâshoulders rigid, hand flexing at his side. Tonyâs never been good at showing his more vulnerable edges. Carefully, you move closer, letting your voice soften.
âLetâs get one thing straight. Defending you isnât just me âclocking in.â I do it because I care. Because I know youâre more than just the suit, no matter what Steve says.â Tony looks up at you in surprise, but you're not done yet. "If this was just part of my job, I wouldn't be spending all my free time down here with you. I would've jumped at the chance to quit when you offered it on a silver platter."
Tony cracks a half-smile, remembering when he outright tried to bribe you to quit, and you surprisingly rejected his offer. The money could've set you for life, supported you and a family if you so desired, but you simply shook your head and informed him about a meeting he had in the morning.
Tony moves closer, so close you can count the faint freckles along his cheekbones. âI hated the idea of having a bodyguard,â Tony admits, voice low. âBut Iâve come to realize how much I needed you.â Your heart stutters, unsure of how to respond. Tony swallows thickly, looking uncharacteristically unsure. Thereâs no witty remark, no deflecting sarcasm. Itâs just him, raw and honest, baring feelings you never thought heâd share.
âYouâve become one of the closest people in my life,â he continues. âI trust you in ways I donât trust anyone else. Hell, Pepper might be the only other person who gets me anywhere close to this.â He hesitates, eyes flicking to your lips before returning to your gaze. âAndâŠIâve been trying to figure out how to say I mightâwellâI feel something for you.â
Your stomach flips, warmth blooming in your chest. Thereâs something surreal about this: Tony Stark, the man who refused to even acknowledge your presence at first, now openly admitting he caresâthat he wants something more than just having you as security detail.
A ghost of a smile curves your lips. âI might feel something for you, too.â Tonyâs grin is immediateârelief and mischief dancing in his eyes. He leans in, and for a moment, the rest of the world fades.
âDo I have to make an appointment to kiss my bodyguard,â he murmurs, âor is thisââ You cut him off by closing the distance, your lips finding his in a slow, tentative kiss.

Silicon Valley's Fish Killing Machine
There's a tech company called "Shinkei Systems" that created an "AI powered fish killing machine" (they're using an automated machine to do ike jime, a traditional Japanese slaughter technique where a fish is killed instantly via a knife to the brain). Here's a picture of their machine:

Isn't that metal box such a great way for a living creature to die? Shinkei systems claims this automated death machine is "more humane" than error prone humans, who of course, sometimes miss the mark when severing a fish's brain from its spinal cord.
If the idea of automated animal slaughter doesn't freak you out enough, take a look at their promotional material where they promise to "eliminate 85% of the workforce" wherever their machine is used.

And just to wrap this story up in a bow, the founder is a guy named Saif Khawaja who retweets a lot about "DNA based IQ testing" and other race-science nonsense:

So yeah....a tech company run by a race obsessed skull-measurer decided the most pressing issue facing the world was not enough cheap sushi-grade salmon. The solution, of course, isn't to allow the ocean's depleted fisheries to regain their natural levels by reducing commercial fishing, it's to make a robot that can kill fish in a fancy Japanese way so people who eat industrialy farmed animals can feel less bad about it. And why not put a bunch of fishermen out of work while you're at it? The solution to our ever alienated world is clearly removing any human contact in the food supply and ceding that role to a machine. Clearly, the faster we can kill animals the better; perhaps we can kill them quickly before any concerns about the rapid destruction of the earth's aquatic ecosystems arise out of our collective haunted consciousness.
